Crazy about Packaging New Product & Plain Packaging Boxes

"It's the exact same old tissue, honey, it doesn't make a difference, ok? It's still going to work the exact same way", my exasperated other half hissed into my ear as I grabbed cartons after cartons of some 'designer' tissue. DESIGNER TISSUE! Hah, can you even hear me state that? I can't believe I in fact wrote 'designer tissue'. Yes, for a graphic designer and author who knows all about the kind of effort one puts into product packaging and branding products, I sure fell for it. All the hoopla. The shenanigans. The 'draw 'em in with great copy and fab color combination'. Hey, I am still a consumer, remember that. I am entitled to fall for great packaging, I have a dominating right to be human.

They are so quite ... the product packaging. I swear!

They have the 'nature enthusiast' packaging, the 'fruity' packaging, the 'female on the go' packaging, and after that they have the 'kids' packaging. I got 4 of each design bundles and made a run for the counter with them with my screaming kids and exasperated partner following me in sluggish motion. It was certainly a 'die-hard' moment. You know, when the hero is escaping from a lot of wild bad men with gatling gun, and they're shooting at your feet or something ... and there's a surge behind you ... and everything occurs in ssslllloooowwwww mmmmooooottttttiiiioooonnnnn.

Well, in this case, I was running for checkout with boxes of tissue paper with elegant product packaging styles on them. If I didn't like the packaging creates so much, I would find it comical enough. I am dead serious. I liked the packaging creates so much, after using up all the tissues in the boxes, I would cut out the styles and position it into my 'must keep for recommendation' clear folder. I do not keep a lot of things in there since I am pretty selective about the designs that I like, but these packaging designs made it. They absolutely did.

You see, this is the kind of thing that takes place when you put some effort into making your product packaging design. Yeah, we all have this in the back of our heads ... "Hey, it's PACKAGING! It's what's INSIDE that count. They're going to THROW the PACKAGING away. So, why read more spend so much money on the packaging?" Maybe you're likewise believing that the cash needs to go towards establishing better quality products ... for faster delivery options ... or maybe the money needs to go towards investing prospective customers to pricey dinners in Italian restaurants. It's your call, truly.

The more effort you put into developing your packaging, more consumers will take a look and stop at your product packaging or what's inside the product packaging. Now, does it make sense for me to say now that when they stop and take notification of your packaging, your chance of getting them to purchase your item boosts?
